I am a self professed addon whore. I have well over a hundred folders in my Addon directory and they change constantly. I like addons so much that I don’t think I would play WoW nearly as much without them. This however, was not always the case.

Like everyone, I was once a noob. I did not start using addons until very late into old world content on my first toon. Once I discovered my first (The CT package) I did not look back. They have made my game easier, more productive, and more fun. They have made me a better player and WoW a better game.

Last night I was helping my brother who is brand new to WoW with his level 17 Troll Mage. One thing I kept thinking, other than green items > white items, was how much better his game would be with just a few addons. Beacuse if that I have put together a list of 5 addons that I think are required and will make life better.

First you need to know how to get and install the addons. This article from NOStockUI does a much better job than I could: Manually Installing Addons: A Beginner’s Guide

So now that you know how, go get the following:

1. Carbonite

This is THE questing addon. They used to charge for it because it is worth it.

2. ArkInventory

This will revolutionize your bags.

3. X-Perl Unit Frames

The easiest and best out-of-the-box Unit Frames.

4. Bartender4

Take control of your action bars.

5. AuctionLite

Everyone needs at least this auction addon.

Once you have mastered these and are wanting to branch out check out the rest of my addons in the lower left sidebar. Once you go NoStock there is no going back.

Please post any questions or comments, this is very important to getting the most out of the World of Warcraft.
